Frequently asked questions
Many trainings are unduly complex, time-intensive, and financially out-of-reach for those who simply want to care well for others in everyday settings (family members, teachers, clergy). Level 1 serves this purpose.
Sacred Comfort Care is structured in two levels to make the work both accessible and sustainable (time and financial)—offering a strong, practical foundation in the Level 1 training.
Level 2 deepens and expands upon the foundational information learned in Level 1. It is offered for those who feel called to more-formally serve as Companions, applying it more intentionally in their work or are interested in creating a business practice as a Companion (health practitioners, nurses, counselors, etc).
This is not the same as End-of-Life Doula training although it does bring greater depth and expands upon certain areas covered in EOLD training. There are a number of areas of EOLD training that are not addressed in this training.
There are many ways the Companion can serve through the skills and practices learned in this training.

Yes. In Level 2 , there is basic information provided regarding building a practice: structure, marketing, supplies, management, as well as, mentoring by Jacki in this area of development.
In today’s technological, AI driven world of healthcare, where care continues to be increasingly medicalized and impersonal, Sacred Comfort Care restores a more-human way of caring, grounded in compassion, presence and reverence- with a focus on natural comfort practices.
This deeply-rooted holistic care is offered in times of stress, illness, aging, dying and grief.
This is a hybrid of live and self-paced learning, seeking a balance and respect for the student’s busy life and work balance.
Completion of Level 1 training (with attendance of all live sessions)
Completion of Level 2 training with 8-10 practice hours and practicum with testing.
Completion of all requirements within 6 months of Level 2 training (unless otherwise approved)
Demonstration of ongoing engagement with this model of care through practice, reflection and lived application.
***Those who do not take Level 2 training immediately after Level 1 training (at the next scheduled Level 2 training), or have been away from the work for an extended period, or who have not had the opportunity to apply the training, may be asked to complete a refresher of Level 1, re-immersion, or take additional steps prior to entering Level 2.***
Sacred is used as a descriptive, recognizing that each of us is created by God, to be held in esteem and with great reverence.
While there is no specific belief system as part of this care, if you are sensitive to the use of "God" or "the Divine" in discussions, you may want to reconsider being a part of the training.
This will depend on your own learning style, experience and background. Taking into account time spent reading, processing, journaling and applied learning, it will take ~3 hours per week.
There are plans in the future to provide a cohort on a different day and time for those living in other time zones or having work schedule conflicts. (Notify Jacki of this interest: jacki@sacredcomfortcare.com).
All are welcome who feel called to serve others in this way.
If you are a healthcare worker/professional, a death doula, counselor, clergy/faith leader, hospice volunteer, private caretaker or family member- you are welcome here.
This philosophy of care and natural, holistic approach will bring breadth to your service (and life) in deeply meaningful ways.
The cost of this training has been priced in a way to make it financially available without the need for payment plans.
There are no prerequisites, nor requirements for joining this training. What is of greatest import is a heart-centered desire to serve others in a deeply human and sacred way, through presence and natural comfort practices.
Because of the intimate size of the group, a very limited number of scholarships are available.
